Services

Here You Grow offers mobile, in-person early intervention and key worker support to children and their families in Geelong and the surrounding areas. Sessions are held in the child’s naturalistic setting to provide authentic opportunities to work on skills and strategies. The key worker model of early intervention is widely recognised as the gold standard in supporting children with disabilities and developmental delays, where families work closely with one professional who coordinates and delivers support aligned with the child’s goals.

I can help your family understand the supports available to your child as a participant of the NDIS and link you with the most appropriate professionals and providers. With the input and engagement of a therapy team, I am able to work with your child on skill building, while simultaneously guiding you on how to follow up and support at home or in the education setting.

I also offer one-off consultations. Parent consultations can be a great way to work through a particular challenge or increase your understanding of the options available to your family. As the parent, you spend the most time with your child and building your capacity to support is going to have a far greater impact than any of us who pop in for an hour at a time!

I can help with

  • I use the DIRFloortime approach to deliver a child-led, play-based program that builds strong foundations for social, emotional and intellectual capacity.

DIRFloortime uses the power of relationships and emotional connection to enhance development for young children with a range of neurodevelopmental differences.

  • Starting with an initial screener assessment, I can tailor intervention to support development in a range of expressive and receptive language skills. This can include support in sessions, as well as a home program to enhance your child’s progress.

I am also trained in delivering Hanen’s ‘It Takes Two to Talk’ coaching program (SPARK Communication) to parents and caregivers, to enable you to build language development opportunities into everyday routines and play.

  • As a Sounds-Write trained practitioner, I can work with your child to achieve their early literacy goals. Sounds-Write is the evidence-based, synthetic phonics program used by most speech pathologists and is considered the gold standard in high-quality literacy intervention.

  • I draw on a range of approaches to help parents and caregivers to understand their child’s behaviour. I see behaviour through a humanistic lens and consider the factors that might be contributing to nervous system dysregulation for our little people. Kids do well if they can!

  • If your child is having a hard time managing the demands of an educational setting, their educators may benefit from strategies that will help them to succeed.

I always begin with parent feedback, followed by an observation. From here, I will compile a list of strategies and recommendations that I believe would be beneficial. I can provide guidance and modelling to educators on what these practices look like, as well as creating any specific resources needed.
